@BakaNeko - that’s sad news, he had good vibes.
@anon61221983 - The Donnas!
@1000YearBan - The Slits! - sounding much more two-tone than I remember.
@anon61221983 again - Love Peter Gabriel, thanks…

To All:
I’ve got all their albums - think it was their first (haven’t checked) “In The City” with the Batman theme.
Great stuff.
As an aside brag - I saw them live on their farewell tour in Wembley Arena.
I was the only red-checked “lumberjack-style” shirt and jeans in a sea of green parkas and stay-prest suits.
Oh! Here’s a lovely cover of Moon over Marin!
(Although, I hear Matthew Good as a real asshole, like, for real now not the old bumper sticker joke)
Y’all’re killing me here!
Keep up the good work. If I haven’t liked your post yet it’s that I haven’t got to all of them yet!
I guess this sort of a cover, seeing as she wrote the song, but released this version later:
Anyone like YouTube band covers?
These are in heavy rotation on my playlist.
Freddie does The Platters
Brian does Rainbow
Meatloaf does Chuck Berry/Elvis and Tom Waits
Blondie/Deborah Harry does Johnny Cash
Not sure if this is a true cover but it’s the absolute very best non Freddie version of Somebody To Love.
Yeah, I finally gave up because they’re all such great posts!
Could not find it on youtube, so you will have to follow the link and play the song, but a wonderful version of Ghosts of American Astronauts by the apparently unstoppable Trash Can Sinatras ,I remember when this cover came out on a special Mailing List only CD, and they were supposedly over then, but hey here it is like 25 years alter and they have been making more music the whole time
Very nice selection here!
Oh, yes! I had to turn my radio off for this one!
Cheers!
I’m a Smiths fanatic and don’t often like covers of their songs, but I’m also a Dream Academy fanatic and I just love this.
And they do John Lennon justice too.
