“Knock on Wood” is a 1966 hit song written by Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper and originally performed by Floyd. The song has been covered by later artists, most notably Amii Stewart in 1979. Stewart’s version was the most successful on weekly music charts. (wikipedja)
The song was originally written for eleven-year-old Stacy Lattisaw as a teenybopper song about children talking on the telephone. When Lattisaw signed with a different label, American singer and musician Anita Ward was asked to sing it instead, and it became her only major hit. [So, not exactly a cover. Hope I’m not in trouble for it!] (wikimapedja)

This is interesting and not too shabby.
It’s a cover of It Could Have Been You from Journey’s Raised On Radio album.
It’s from a band called The Effect featuring Trev Lukather (Son Of Toto’s Steve Lukather) On Guitars, Nic Collins (Son Of Phil Collins) On Drums, Steve Maggiora (Toto) On Keyboards and newcomer Emmett Stang on vocals.
Steve Perry supplied some vocals on this track.
Think that one was how I persuaded the kid to come to Stip Making Sense with me!
This I just heard the other day (from the same album I think, so we could be here for a while!)
I have a new favorite, thanks to @evadrepus over in the frog video thread. If the closed captioning isn’t automatically on, make sure to put it on:
Original, for comparison:
