Well, I now have elevator pitches for at least 3 monster movies.
Cool! And I just recently re-watched The Age of Adeline.
Genetics, inheritance, and biology in general are a lot messier and weirder than we realize. This is especially (orders of magnitude more) true for everyone whose science education ended with high school biology, where things were simplified to the point of being outright wrong. (Though those whose education also includes intro college science classes aren’t necessarily any better off - those classes might not actively mis-educate people, but they didn’t have the time to correct all the wrong information their grade school education provided them.)
