Uh-oh. They better not accidentally the whole thing.
It’s even more frustrating at times like these that we suffer with broken internet (NAT, asymmetric speeds, no IPv6) and don’t or often can’t use open source tools for the kind of straightforward, peer to peer communications for which the internet was built.
I’m sure Zoom is doing its best. I’m sure they are mostly nice people. Centralized communication systems on the internet break the core model and are a product of the incentive for surveillance profits, even where only the meta-data is valuable.
It’s also a shame that open source infrastructure for these kinds of communications is not as popular as it could be.
