Brandishing a legal pad and effecting an Australian accent, Harper was heard to say, “That’s not an assault on democracy. THIS is an assault on democracy.”

After each such incident it is more the government response to worry about than the possibility of another such incident.

There are always authoritarian personalities dug in positions, waiting for opportunity to push their agenda from the stalemate they are stuck with. It is easy to take new “security measures” in the heat of the moment; it is way more difficult to roll them back. PATRIOT ACT, I am looking at YOU.
