An unusual fairytale about a cannibalistic librarian by Haruki Murakami and artist Chip Kidd

It’s long been known that Librarians and Cannibalism are synonymous.

Don’t even get me started on the Dewy Decimal System, it’ll get ugly.

It’s really quite awful writing. A dull story to boot. And very, very short for the price. The only thing that saves it is Chip Kidd’s design.

I’m the opposite: I didn’t mind the story but greatly disliked the design, which I felt actively hindered the process of reading.

I liked Murakami until 1Q84. Now I doubt my previous preference. Never found a reason to dislike Kidd, however.

“I know, and such small portions too!”
