Better than the beer belly flops we often see when humans are involved with water.
I would assume he was attempting to jump on a salmon. I recall salmon fishing is not instinctual, every bear figures out what works for him.

Sea World is next … dock diving bears! Hey, the polish army had a mascot bear who carried ammo and was on the roster as a corporal. Bears are great, but scary if you live where they are and have livestock or bee hive … eek
