Cartoonist Roz Chast talks about unpleasantries

This is a wonderful book. Started out from how his parents grew up and met. How they have this culture of not talking about unpleasant things.

It was so real when she was facing her mother’s last days. Her mother was sleeping all day, awake long enough to drink a bottle of Ensure and get her diaper changed. She was not dead, but not really living. It makes you think how naive we are about end of life care.

There are plenty of sweet moments, and funny things. It was as if I have met her parents. It’s truly a great book. Very rare take on end of life issue.
