Loved that quote on walking from him. Ironically however, Los Angeles is one of the most unwalkable cities in America, so I’m not sure how he reconciles his feeling on walking with his tome on the city. (Although I would like to point out that my brother lived in the Fairfax/Melrose area of LA for many years precisely because he could get to most areas he wanted to go on foot, but surely most people in that city are not so fortunate)
