JOHN WILCOCK: Langston Hughes recites "Harlem Sweeties" (Interview, 1960)

I took a class on the literature of the Harlem Renaissance back in college and I’ve always been grateful for it. Langston Hughes, W.E.B DuBois, Zora Neale Huston, Jean Toomer, the list goes on, great writers/thinkers/poets all.

If you like this, check out Hughes’s recording “Weary Blues”, where he reads his poems over Mingus and Leonard Feather compositions. Really neat stuff.
