“The Man Who Sold The Moon” sounds like the story of Mr. Stephenson’s failed Kickstarter.

Trying to channel Robert Heinlein?
The Man Who Sold the Moon is a science fiction novella by Robert A. Heinlein written in 1949 and published in 1951.

Considering that this project sounds like it’s trying to inspire people to the same level that Delos Harriman was inspired in Heinlein’s work, and also that an adjective based on Heinlein’s name is used in the description of the event, I’d guess that Cory knows of the original.

Cory uses the titles of established classics for his own stories. You can read all about it in my new book, “Down And Out in the Magic Kingdom”
