I kicked this up a notch earlier in the week with some added news footage that gives it a more poignant quality. Worth a look: Baltimore - Randy Newman with News Video

The city started going bad after the riots, of course, just like Detroit. Wait, were there riots in Baltimore before 1978?

  1. Find a date when you think the city started declining.
  2. Find the nearest preceding uprising.
  3. Assume causality.

Easy to make events fit into your preferred narrative.
