Pratchett's "Raising Steam": the magic of modernity

That’s kinda normal of the kind of Alzheimer’s he has; the cognitive ability’s still gonna be there for a while yet, it’s just his physical abilities that’ve gone, so far.

The Dark Side of the Sun is the other SF novel. It’s his second novel so less mature than his later stuff, but still a lot of fun. Strata is really excellent and a must-read for any Discworld fan, even though not connected with the series. You’ll see why :smile:

I either did not know that, or more facts have been pushed out of my brain.

I can only hope that like Vernor Vinge’s protagonist in Rainbow’s End, Pratchett will be the eventual beneficiary of a cure to his condition. In the meantime it’s wonderful that he continues to be productive.
