Thanks for covering Manuel’s story. We’ve visited him on the beach regularly through the fall here in Ventura. It’s been lovely to watch his audience develop during that time. This documentary is a lovely slice of his artistic vision and philosophy.

But if you go out to see his works, PLEASE BE INFORMED ABOUT THE SNOWY PLOVER, a federally listed threatened species.
The snowy plover lays eggs on rocky beaches that look like rocks. The camouflage is so good, even professional conservators have accidentally stepped on nests.
So please enjoy the beach, honor the artist, but take a tip for these kids and “share the beach.”
