When did this start being a thing, and what are they for (other than hiding one’s face during a robbery)? I actually think they look kind of cool, but can’t imagine a situation where I might see anyone wearing one, other than on the internet, where I wouldn’t want to run the other way.
You wear them when riding a motorcycle in an open-face helmet, keeps the bugs out of your teeth.
