Assuming this is monetarily driven, let me share some humor from Indianapolis. Gannett’s Indianapolis Star is launching a “bold, innovative” initiative in giving its readers something “they have asked for”: more pages. The 70 additional pages per week will be produced in a joint venture with Gannett’s flagship USA Today, allowing “expanded local and national coverage.”
(Oh, man! I can’t believe I got through that with a straight face!)
When giving customers what they’ve asked for is bold and innovative, I suspect we’ve already heard the death rattles.
