Why is he playing Schroeder’s piano?

I did some Googling and found out (possibly) why he appeared at a piano - it seems that’s where he first appeared, before Schroeder. He first showed up in a comic called “Li’l Folks” by “Sparky” in Schultz’s hometown newspaper. Here he is:
It was on May 30, 1951 that Schroeder got introduced to Peanuts as a baby. Prior to his introduction, several jokes about Charlie Brown not being able to play Beethoven on his violin were made in the comic - including an updated version of the “L’il Folks” gag.
