Schulz was a soldier during WWII. Like many in his generation he understood what happens to everyone when the citizens of a major liberal democracy lose faith in its institutions and start engaging in jingoism and start attacking minorities instead of defending them.

It is so nice to read something that CONFIRMS a person I admire really was a good person and not like a closet Nazi or something for a change.
