Bruno Mars, Uptown Funk
OutKast, Hey Ya!
I saw themā¦ I believe it was 5 times while they were on tour just for Siamese Dream. At the Nashville show, in the Vandy gymnasium, they actually played this, the b-side to I Am One. I was pleased.
ya, the software is angry at me for all the sequential posts. sorry, Iāll let someone else get in the game and finish working my way down the thread later (ā=Ģ“āĢĖļø·Ė=Ģ“āĢā)
Whaat?! I love sequential posts!
DERP! Sorry! To be fair, it does say repeats are OK!
Here, hows about this:
I agree with @anon61221983 repeats are goodnesses.
Was it Walter Benjamin or Sting who said, āDude, we can never truly repeat a song anā shitā?
Bothā¦ it was probably both!
never heard it. makes me think of CL Smooth:
Now you wanna sue me
But fans never boo me
Believe I know the time
We been broke too, gee.
vis-a-vis the sampling debate. check it:
So are we still stopping at 1000? I kind of liked the idea of no repeats and having an upper bound. I find I am more creative when working within constraints.
Too late!
Hmmmm ā¦ no procedure for checking consensus. I think itās fair to say there could be continuing agreement to stop at 1,000 despite the repeats and covers.
Based on @anon61221983ās and other covers and repeats, we might consider the issue of whether a song repeated or covered by multiple versions in the thread should be gratuitous? Or counted toward the total?
Iām being far more knit-picky than needed. Itās your game. Do as you will.
Gang Starr, Manifest
Games are more fun with other people.
And I will confess to liking (some) knit-picky questions (too).
I like the idea of stopping at 1,000. Unless thereās an objection, I propose that anyone can claim the 1,000 target was reached subject to challenge based on counting or related questions.
oh, man. I may as well just post the whole catalogā¦
no, OK, Iāll limit myself to one Gangstarr post. this one not only has the def rhyme and the def beat, but the video is superlative, particularly given the era:
