Safer than holding the cell phone in your hand, but I get what you’re saying.
Also safer than lighting yourself on fire!
OK, well, I don’t agree that having a cell phone in your eye line in your car is necessarily unsafe. If you’re texting on it, or watching streaming video, then yes, stop that. But if you’re using it for music, or GPS, and you’re only interacting with it when the car isn’t moving, or when you’re not actively maneuvering or something (you know, any time you would reach over to manipulate the radio or climate controls), it’s fine.
I don’t see ‘advanced driving course’ on there.
