2020 Uprising: Enough is Enough

That unfortunately comports with the story going around of coordination between the cops and the white supremacist “counterprotesters.” This is a sick sick country.

This won’t onebox for some reason, but it lays out how democracy is battered into line by the blue gang.

Is that smug, witless prick ever going to lose his fucking job?

Great piece, thank you, good to see even USA Today allowing that kind of honesty on its site.

I have to have hope; as a people, we’ve been fighting too long and change is well overdue.

I can’t stomach the TV coverage from Kenosha. Even my local news channels in “liberal” San Francisco keep framing the story as “protests turn deadly despite pleas from Jason Blake’s family to remain peaceful” instead of “nonviolent protesters murdered by Blue Lives Matter extremist.”

Well, liberals don’t actually give a fuck, so this was to be expected. The shooter was buddy-buddy with the cops before this, looking at another thread where there was a quote about how he was thanks for being there.

At least one liberal sacrificed his life trying to stop the bastard. This isn’t on them.

Over the last few years I and many others have come to define the word “liberal” as “Center-Right Neoliberal that tries to say the ‘right’ things in public so that their mask doesn’t slip”. Whatever liberal meant back in the day, it’s gone now, IMO. It’s become as loaded and co-opted a term as when some far-right fascist tool claims that they’re “conservative”. The man that died trying to stop the bastard took far more action than I think any modern-day liberal would ever muster.

The point of the tweet that I linked still stands: There are people trying to zero in on the fact that he had an assault rifle rather than the fact that the police were fine and dandy with him working to help keep Kenosha fascist.

Do you really think it’s appropriate to co-opt the outrage against racist police brutality and white supremacists killing people in the streets for a little name-calling? You don’t think that’s a distraction from the issue at hand?

I wasn’t trying to co-opt anything. I was trying to point out that there are people disgustingly blind to what it really means that the police and alt-right militia are buddy-buddy and how that’s a problem that serves as an obstacle to justice, and then my second comment was explaining myself and where I was coming from when I use the term “liberal”.

Mike Harriot, with that REAL TALK, as always:

No one here has downplayed that problem; in fact several people on this forum brought it up before you did. Nor have I seen anyone associated with the Black Lives Matter movement—or any self-identified “liberal” AT ALL—suggest that isn’t a problem. So you can go take that “liberals don’t actually give a fuck about police working with militia” nonsense elsewhere.

Well it certainly has a “look at me, I’m so edgy!” sound to it, and that’s a distraction from the issue at hand.
