My concerns come from how the Rochester pd is going to try to get other near by communities sucked into their bullshit.
My county (Orleans) is next door to Monroe county. There’s a ton more racist and or ‘good ol boys’ here compared to that county. You can drive from the edge of Niagara country through Orleans and reach Brockport in Monroe and see hundreds of pro Trump signs. Around a third of the people here don’t wear masks in stores and I seen a truck with a three percenter sticker a few weeks ago. I’m concerned that the Rochester pd is going to call in cops from my county for “assistance” and that many non cops here would go over to Rochester to stir up shit with the demonstraters. Things are going to get stupid fast when Orleans kkkounty sticks their noses in it.
…and keep in mind that if the NYPD actually paid fair compensation for every case of corruption and brutality, that figure would be orders of magnitude higher. These are just the exceptional cases where some slight hint of justice was forced out of them.
Holy shit, that is terrifying. Looking for logic and reason in a situation like that is just not gonna happen. I am sure the justification would be that the kid disobeyed a direct order, therefore justified shooting. This shit just cannot be allowed to stand. Not in Utah, not anywhere.
I can understand Mom’s thoughts, though. I was thrown around the waiting room by a 20 yr old autistic kid who was having a melt down. If I were a smaller woman and had no other resources, maybe I would have that thought of the cops too. Not having another resource is the root problem here. And the root of the whole “defunding” concept.
My first thought is about avenues of escape/distancing. If there’s no way to escape, no place to hide/lock myself in, and no possibility of waiting it out, then I’d probably call for help, too.
Proud Boys show up from all over the country to Salem, OR to clash with BLM protesters. Despite carrying and using weapons of many shapes and sizes, strangely, there was no sign of teargas use by authorities, nor rubber bullet headshots. Hmm…
