City Hall has National Guard troops stationed in front - looks like a lot. They have rifles and those Humvee type vehicles.
Mennonite terrorists?
Here’s the thing: I’m getting pushback from people who agree with the protesters but disagree that police just need to be fired en masse. But the violence being committed by the police in so many of these instances is not traceable back to individual police, because they’ve intentionally obscured or hidden their identity. So how are we going to enforce the law, which these police are breaking, if we can’t identify them?
They made the choice (all of them) to be unidentifiable. And we cannot risk letting one violent cop continue their job after this. So we have to get rid of all of them.
I’m way more comfortable with anarchy than I am with this shit
Same procedure as every year.
Plus, accessory is a real thing.
If the getaway driver in a bank robbery can be held responsible for the security guard who slipped and hit his head during a bank robbery, these chucklefucks can be responsible for anything their compatriots do. Including the coverup afterwards.
So much mansplaining in that thread. People who for some reason feel the need to tell the Columbia political science PhD that “Nuh uh there was never a president named Andrew Johnson you must be thinking of Andrew Jackson or LBJ!”
Why am I seeing ID pictures for 2 cops that totally don’t match the description of the guys holding the guns in the other pictures?
Add to the Amish and Episcopalians. Terrorists all! Keep this up, I may have to review my opinion of organized religion.
That’s the usual logic when “certain folks” consider the black population. Sauce for the goose, right?
ETA: In the “meets the general description of” sort of way. “Asshole in a uniform, mask over face, armed and dangerous.”
Just wait until Trump brings back Positive Christianity. It’s positive, so it must be good /s.
Firing police en masse has been tried in some of Eastern and Central European countries, frequently with very good results. In Poland during 1989 democratic transition changes were less drastic, but most brutal regiments of riot police were disbanded:
While there wasn’t enough accountability, 15 ZOMO officers did receive prison sentences and oversight on police actions significantly increased.
Good. I’m glad that got charged.
