I am so sad right now, and I’m putting this here to show why. This is my local Jewel-Osco. To be honest, I don’t really go here because Jewel never has everything I want (vegetarian household with a vegan, so our grocery list looks different than most households’). But I drive by it all the time, and I KNOW how hard it is to get food in a proper grocery store in the area, especially for those who don’t have a car like we do. This Jewel is the only full-size local grocery store for something like 6 neighborhoods.
It’s two sides of the same horrific coin: Kimberly Jones’ righteous anger pointing out that blacks aren’t allowed to own their own neighborhoods so why not burn them down, and this mother’s desperation to find food and milk for her children in the aftermath.

It’s not only Valve’s silence on the issue that irritates me. It’s the fact that they let racist and neo-nazi groups have free reign of the place with their own communities and forums, only lifting a finger when they could actually suffer consequences for it. Their store has shit like nazi visual novels in it and developers that leverage transphobia to sell their games. Their inaction and laissez-faire policies speak worlds to how much more they care about money than any sort of justice or kindness.

This is fucking insane.
After the mother and child (who were not involved with the protest) were treated by a medic, and had finally calmed the poor shocked toddler down, the cop casually tossed a tear gas can right at their feet, instantly dousing them.
i am running out of what the fucks, but if municipal agencies can’t clamp down on this shit, people are going to start taking matters into their own hands.
