i am still confused by why so many people let wells fargo, city bank, and bank of america hold ( and often charge people for holding ) their money.
there have been credit unions in every place i lived, and their major drawback - a sparse number of atms - is offset these days by electronic payment for almost everything.
the big banks are just awful to their customers, and yet everybody heads to them by default.
( but really of course, bring back the postal banks )

Gary Tom Sawyer, owner of Tom Sawyer Country Coffee in Spokane, shared someone else’s post on June 9 that was titled: “White Lives Matter: Lets see how long it takes Facebook to take this down.”
The reaction was swift. My Fresh Basket, a grocery store at 1030 W. Summit Pkwy., removed all Tom Sawyer coffee products from its shelves on Wednesday.
So racist posting gets immediately and vocally shunned. Cool. But:
On Thursday, he said about 50 [police] officers came to his business. Asked if he thought they were coming in to cash in the gift cards, Sawyer said no. “It was total support for this.”

yes! do it! even if you need to keep your other bank account for a while to “try it out”, reducing the funds that the banks have at their disposal is an easy way to decrease their “too big to fail” leverage.
plus, you can rest easy knowing your money isn’t being used for private prisons, police expansion, and fossil fuel exploitation.
and usually, their fees are less and their returns are higher.
tell your friends and family too

From my friends at SpaceX this is the tip of the iceburg for how shitty they get. I would be shocked if people were actually allowed to take Juneteenth 2021 off at SpaceX and would be told there is cake in the break room instead.
