Having known a few Floridians, I imagine that there are like two, maybe three, Miami residents who are super annoyed about the dent that this has put into their collections.
tl;dr They’re not falling back to prepared defences because they don’t need to. Minefields with covering fire are enough to stop armoured assaults, and they avoid headlines about Russia losing territory. Instead the narrative is that the Ukrainian offensive is failing.
