iāve never been in a discussion where saying āyeah, sureā was seen as anything less than utter sarcasm. I hold no position on his mental illness or sanity, and you have read my words as such an assertion, wellā¦ you can piss on my leg and tell me itās raining, but it aināt rainin.
I think itās a bit of both. Certainly if you are in an environment or hang out with people who reflect and amplify you views it is going to further affect you and solidify those views.
But while there are many people with those views, few actually act on it. It seems like itās the one guy who loses his grip on reality and hurts people. Not to say that his network didnāt encourage his behavior, but they didnāt explicitly order it either. Though in this specific case we donāt know the details. It could have been.

He could also be mentally ill.
And he also could have decided to act alone vs someone telling him to do these things.

Maybe it never occured to some folk, but perhaps extreme racism is a type of mental illness. I imagine those who would fly planes in to buildings may suffer from many of the same problems.
But letās be clear on one point, mental illness does not exclude you from culpability.
