Is accidentally building a Hobbit house similar to going on holiday by mistake?
Nearby hobbit illusionist whammied him into doing it, and made him think it was his idea. The Scotsman doesn’t remember building the larger underground passages where the hobbit spends most of his time. He doesn’t mind having an upstairs roommate while the human is doing the upkeep and the cleaning, and humans don’t typically live that long.
After the camera stopped rolling he asked the reporter " Could you lend us a quid til Tuesday?"
seems like if so, he’s more like the hobbits in Buckland, making freestanding structures that are like the homes of the big folk, instead of underground homes.
to me it’s less of a hobbit house than just a very beautiful, clever cottage.
Grant starts building in 80’s.
Film location scout sees house and files it away.
Years later scout gets job in New Zealand.
Hobbit house?
90-years-old… Does he look “well-preserved”?
Well duh. Tolkien’s description of Hobbiton was based on the rural communities of Britain, so it’s not surprising that someone building a traditional rural hut would end up with something resembling a hobbit house.
Like jam spread over too much toast.
Loved the cabinet design. Was that in any Lord of the Rings movies?
