Hi Cory, thanks for mentioning our report! One comment: Valimail’s research didn’t examine mailservers, but rather domains. DMARC is a DNS-based mechanism for authentication, and it allows domain owners to specify what can send email “from” their domains – whether that’s a server or a cloud-based service sending mail on their behalf.
