A country music reading list

Also, Ken Burns’ country music doc is actually very good.

I have no idea how widely it is broadcast, but the RFD Channel is kind of a network that time forgot. Yes, it has HeeHaw.

I hesitate to suggest it because it tends to be very conservative, often religious fare, to the point it might be frustrating or difficult for many people. It does though have several shows that bring the old country stars themselves out for interviews, telling stories, etc. Many many have now passed away, and these were some of their last interviews.

Again, you’re right in the mix of rural American country culture and religion and all the perspectives therein, but that’s part of the whole history of the phenomenon, too, I guess.

And you can use it to defeat the Martians.
