A drowned forest, visible for the first time in centuries

How can we know that those trees were submerged 4500 years unless we witnessed it with our own eyes, or have some line in the Bible that would be “evidence” of that length of time? (Dang, I picked up that guy’s technique after watching him less than 2 hours.)

From the title it seemed a ‘living forest’ was submerged, later, tall trees of yore standing in eroded fashion. But no. Sawed off stumps washed with water over time by rovers or water fares. I needed too see an ancient standing forest damn it.

You need to head to Tahoe… Leaf lake just south of Lake Tahoe has some 100 foot tall trees that are ~800 yrs old (there are a few lower down that date back 2000-3500 yrs).

An image search for submerged or underwater forest turns up some more cool ones. Turns out there are lots of them thanks to hydro dams – flooded areas are/were rarely cleared before flooding, but now those submerged trees are seen as a lucrative resource.
