There are few watches I’d pay $200k+ for if I had that kind of money. This would be an exception: not only a lovely Rolex timepiece in and of itself but that history!

Is the baseball mitt still available?

I love that movie but hate the ending.

Stalag 17 also a great movie from the era.

Indeed.
I have a feeling I know who one of the bidders will be.

Are vintage watches with luminous dials safe to wear? I thought they used radioactive paint to make them luminous back in the day.

Obligatory

It’s generally considered to be perfectly safe so long as you’re not opening the watch and licking the paint. The “radium girls” were sickened because they would lick the bristles of their brushes to sharpen the tip while applying luminous paint.
