I’m actually a big fan of the knee or mid-thigh length skirt as a unisex garment. It’s very practical, flattering, and comfortable in hot weather.
Not to be too cheeky by posting this again, but you could also talk back (get it, talk back?..sorry).
Of course he ignores the fact that sexualization is always in the eye of the beholder.
I dunno about mid thigh for me, too much chance of showing things nobody (well most people) wants to see.
I liked kilt more for anatomy reasons over pants. I mean seriously guys are not really built for pants.
This applies to all kinds of abusers. That’s why the default has to be believe victims. Successful abusers make sure they have character witnesses lined up. It’s not just about access, it’s also one of the elements of control (“No one would ever believe you.”)
I’m ungrey on the Root, which I consider a great privilege as a mayo-American
This is a good list…

Umm I… err Why… You need a PSA for that?
To be fair, it’s not just Florida, or the south, or America, or the western hemisphere… this is a global problem.
I’m reacting more to the apparent societal acceptance* of incest than to incest itself.
*even when drunk
Where’s the outrage from pro-life, life-begins-at-conceptioners over the abandonment and deadbeat parents of embryos?
Oh, yeah. This has nothing to do with control over a woman’s body, so not their problem.
Nation’s fertility clinics struggle with a growing number of abandoned embryos
I was going to try for something clever or snarky, but really, what the fuck, Iowa?
Hey Steve King!
Perhaps he’s just outing himself on his parentage and his regrettable genetics?
Perhaps. Projection is the GOP’s currency.
I listened to his remarks and he kind of does.
The Des Moines Register has a video and a partial transcription:
What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled those people out that were products of rape or incest? Would there be any population of the world left if we did that? Considering all the wars and all the rapes and pillages that happened in culture after society, I know that I can’t certify that…that I’m not a part of a product of that.
Eventually he gets to his point which is to defend the excellent, culture-building reputations of rape and incest from the sin of abortion:
It’s not the baby’s fault for the sin of the father, or of the mother.
Donald Trump moves the bar for publicly acceptable behavior a little lower every day; he’d drop it even further if Steve King weren’t already prostrate beneath it.
