Activists released thousands of minks that are now on the loose in Ohio

But people aren’t going to be upset about a mini farm that wasn’t causing any issues, while they will get upset about the mink moving into their yard eating their pets.
This may be a place where mink have lived in the past, but their habitat is greatly reduced and even then the population density was low. Have a few thousand animals all descend in one area overnight will only result in over predation by the mink, leading to starvation and illness.
There is little chance this stunt will get people to say “stop farming mink!”

Yeah, but that quantity will throw the ecosystem off for a long time either way. There are also issues with domestic mink competing with native wild mink. Apparently the years of captive breeding has been sufficient to cause enough genetic drift to be an issue.

I don’t think we should be naming civic buildings after them.

Stop farming mink.

About as helpful as the apocryphal “I wouldn’t start from here” when asking directions.

That might be the desired result, but this action won’t achieve it.
