Clearly just for the YouTube views.

doing a video log like that is also good for keeping yourself conscious and aware.

Just curious…where did the opening footage of said plane come from? I didn’t see a reference.

Well, if not technically a wonderful thing it is nevertheless a pretty wonderful tale.

I get there is generic footage of the system in action. What I was wondering was the footage at the start of his video…is that of his plane or is it generic footage.

I’m betting on generic footage.

Right from the YT description:

I love my inReach. Way cheaper than a satphone. I have also had good luck with the gotenna mesh radios on cruises/cuba/etc. If you don’t have cell service it gives you a way to talk to members of your group with more range than most walkie talkies (about 4 miles in the open). https://gotennamesh.com/

One always hears about the survival tale, but what happens with a downed plane in the wilderness these days? Do the regional authorities attempt to clean up or salvage the plane, or do they just let them rot where they sit?

Well, of course we’d know what happened to him. There’d be a little camera in the bear poop.

He’s lucky he had that heroic soundtrack to keep him going.
