Alabama’s way to keep its population size from decreasing too much.
Because it’s contrary to the interests of the Breeding Program. You don’t kill off your mares.
I agree completely, only the person who is pregnant should have the right to decide. It’s just the idea that “masses of tissue and differentiating cells” become human only at the moment of birth seems dogmatic to me, in the same way that “fertilised egg instantly becomes a child” does. In my opinion it’s more gradual process.
Yeah, presumably. That idiot the Atlantic hired a while back to get a “balanced” perspective said they should hang women for having abortions. When you raise that idea the whole thing starts sounding unseemly or something.
Respectfully, you are still missing my point, and I am sure it is because I am not making my point clear:
I agree completely, only the person who is pregnant should have the right to decide.
This has nothing to do with pregnant or not pregnant, that is falling into their trap that women are not regular humans like every other person.
Only the person should have the right to decide how their body is used.
It makes not difference if it is a man or a woman, we are all persons.

See my original comment. I said they are part of a process and did not wade in to when life begins.

Because it does not matter when life begins, this is more distraction and special pleading because a woman is involved. A person is a person, any person, gets to decide how their body is used. You can not be coerced in to keeping another person alive just because someone wants you to.
At least men can not. Apparently some folks think there is some debate on if women are counted as human beings just like men and get to decide what you can and can not do with their bodies.
So… we’re only halfway to:
Obviously. If they really thought abortion was murder, they’d be trying to actually prevent it with access to contraception and medical care to ensure healthy deliveries. Hell, they don’t even apply the law to IVF clinics, where 90% of “babies” are “murdered;” the law only applies when the “baby” is in a woman (or trans man, who they consider to be a woman). That makes the intent pretty damned obvious.
Except that Ohio’s law, for instance, would see women facing the death penalty for having an abortion. (There are similar laws under proposal in Texas et al.) Also in Ohio, stopping ectopic pregnancies would be illegal abortions, even though they’re deadly. (Because it would only be legally allowed if the embryo was “re-implanted” in the uterus, which isn’t possible.)
So yeah, they don’t give a shit about killing women. They just decided in some states that it was politically expedient to put the penalties on whoever is causing the abortion; that it was punishment enough to be forced to carry a fetus to term. Although in the age of mail-order abortifacient drugs and no abortion clinics, that’s likely to be the pregnant person.
No, that would make sense.
You can be sure that some law enforcement organization in Alabama will interpret this as, “if the woman was in good enough condition to survive the abortion, her life wasn’t really endagered by the pregnancy.”
That’s how I see it too. Thanks for the reply!
If the woman’s body is the state-enforced property of the fetus up until birth, it only seems fair that the man’s body is the offspring’s property thereafter. Mandatory blood transfusions and organ donations from the father as the growing child requires. Any health care professional who refuses to enforce this common-sense legislation gets 10-99 in the clink.
Same is said about depending on John Roberts or Brett Kavanaugh to defend the principles of the American democratic system and civil liberties.
It worked once.
Reminder that now is a really, really good time to donate to both Planned Parenthood and the ACLU. Those organizations are doing something about this.
That’s exactly right. And this is going to be happening a lot because not every case will make it to SCOTUS. There was some good information about this in “Knock Down The House” on Netflix. Also a really good documentary.
Unfuck centrists and their worship of decorum. Unfuck those white supremacist, misogynist lawmakers. Unfuck those who enable them.
This is quite literally sexual Bolshevism : forcibly seizing and redistributing the means of reproduction.
Where are the JPetersons of the world when actual government compelled speech is occurring? Government-enforced slavery, and not a peep.
Fun fact, adults in all 50 states commit incest!
They are taking that choice away.
Related although from a different state:
From the time of conception? No, I don’t think they require fathers to pay child support within minutes of having sex.
That’s insulting to dogs. Even the poorly trained ones have more manners than these slime bags. But yeah, scary times fo sho.
