We’re having regular wildfires out west, massive hurricane and cyclones, mass pieces of ice sheets breaking off, IT WAS 70 DEGREES IN ALASKA LAST WEEK, among many other things.
Those babies that this asshat wants us to have are not going to inherent a livable planet if something is NOT DONE soon.

Nah, how about we get some politicians who actually tell us these facts that we need to know to make informed decisions instead. I’m glad that she’s refused to feed them lines that will please them (which will not happen, unless she adopts literally all of their views) and instead has taken a strong position based on facts and science.

Even when the Democrats put forth a Republican health care bill, the Republicans lost their minds and pretended it was a commie/leftist/socialist/pinko plot to destroy America.
Since that’s their reaction to anything they don’t say, it basically seems ok to ignore their talking points and have grownup conversations instead. Ocasio-Cortez seems to have figured this out well before the Democratic Party’s leadership.

Yeah, in part because the black guy did it… They had a pretty loud reaction to Clinton, but they still managed to get some shit done during his 8 years in office (with the except being the last couple of years with the Starr investigation, but even then, it was as bad as with Obama). With Obama it was literally nothing but obstruction after obstruction and if anything Obama was slightly to the right of Clinton on many issues…
She’s absolutely right on that. She needs to keep at it, and ignore the bullshit and keep calling them out on their obstructionist mode of operating. I think if she keeps at it, something will get through to some people eventually.

I really want the media to pay more attention to some of the other freshman representatives as well. To hear them talk, you would think AOC is “voice of one crying in the wilderness” but she is one of a chorus. She gets the publicity, and that is all fine, but it is easier for the right to ignore her if the myth that she is out there on her own is perpetuated. She is telegenic and very gifted at utilizing the media but she is not alone.

That’s a great point. I think she tries to highlight the other voices there, too. It is helpful that she’s got a platform and she’s using it to highlight issues rather than partisan talking points or even herself.
