those bricks lack the Fujifilm “Instagram cool” thing which is what all this is really about.
Is that what this is about? I’m not hip enough to know Instagram trends. I’ve had an original X100 for a while now that my father handed down to me because he didn’t like it. I loved it, but figured I’d upgrade to the latest one around about when the X100V came out. There was no reasonable chance to get one until the X100VI was coming soon, so I figured I’d wait for that as they’d likely manage supply better this time. Nope. I suspect they’re happy having it generate buzz by being the thing everybody wants and nobody can get.
Saw an article to this effect after Fujifilms last quarterly reporting where they discussed their production model to effectively keep things scarce and maintain demand.
