If you’re referring to Eyman’s (spit snarl) car-tab initiative, it sounds like the good blue folks in the Seattle metroplex did their bit to help pass the damn thing.
Yup that’s one of them. I mean I get it, car tabs cost a fucking fortune (and ST3 made it exponentially worse) but our roads are shit, and we don’t pay a state income tax. It seems like the short sighted “I want to pay less for car registration” won out over “we need good public transit and good roads to drive on”. Plus the Fox News-inspired “pro” language in the voters handbook immediately turned me off.
The other one was the pro-affirmative action referendum 88 which is looking like it’ll fail by a super narrow margin.
(Looking at the results a whole bunch of other “greater good” tax proposals got rejected as well.)
Oh, right. Makes sense, I’m dense.
our roads are shit
You may think that but I sure did not ever see anyone getting tons of upvotes on the local subreddit for a picture of the birthday party they held for a pothole until I left Seattle for New Orleans.
Inshallah
Egan Orion = I groan one.
