Mixed feelings here. Kaufman deserves to be honored for that whole angle, but it’s weird that he (and many others) are in the WWE’s Hall of Fame considering his lack of involvement with the company. I get that it’s an ultimately meaningless honor. However, the WWE is essentially assuming itself into the role of caretaker of all things North American pro-wrestling. That doesn’t sit right. Not just because they’ve assumed the role but also because in that role there will be people they simply won’t acknowledge until they’re dead and others they literally can’t acknowledge (specifically Owen Hart).
