I look forward to seeing him in the White Lodge someday
“Once upon a time, there was a place of great goodness called the White Lodge. Gentle fawns gamboled there amidst happy, laughing spirits. The sounds of innocence and joy filled the air. And when it rained, it rained sweet nectar that infused one’s heart with a desire to live life in truth and beauty.”
Aw, man. I was just talking about him with a friend of mine while we watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation - to the effect that it’s wild that the guy who created that score also was responsible for so much of David Lynch’s stuff. Incredibly versatile guy.
Gee, Julee Cruise died this year too.
If there is an “up there” up there, I would expect a reunion is taking place…
Badalamenti’s music is one of my favorite parts of Twin Peaks. The soundtracks and Julee Cruise’s albums are in regular rotation in my headphones. My main disappointment in The Return was the lack of Badalamenti music.
One of my absolute favorites by Badalamenti is (rather unusual for his style) “A Real Indication” from Fire Walk With Me: Thought Gang - A Real Indication (Official Music Video) - YouTube
He’s got a pretty fun DVD extras track on Roth’s “Cabin Fever”.
Audrey’s theme is the greatest.
Never mind Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet… his Comfourt of Strangers, Cousins, and City of Lost Children soundtracks were sublime.
