I am disappointed this wasn’t already posted. WAKE UP!
I like it. But then I am an unwashed heathen.
But are you unpainted?
Wasn’t there a thing where the last time one of these came up, that the garish colors were actually part of how they might have looked back in the 15th century?
Seems like it was actually about Greek statues:
I was going to say the same. Very Greek in appearance, especially the St. George statue, which I have no issues with, save the lazy eye.
Considering this, it reminds me very much of those paper cutout figures our Sunday School teachers used during lessons (ugh, I cringe at calling them “lessons” now), placing them on feltboard.
Alternatively, the colors are quite reminiscent of certain costumes of Disney characters that so many USians worship with equal fervor.
