Unfortunately, the vast majority of them are of an age to have been forcibly vaccinated in their own childhood. It’s their progeny who are incubating the next round of polio.

I talked to a public health official and asked him what’s the best way to anticipate where there might be higher than normal rates of vaccine noncompliance, and he said take a map and put a pin wherever there’s a Whole Foods. I sort of laughed, and he said, “No, really, I’m not joking.” It’s those communities with the Prius driving, composting, organic food-eating people.

For any not familiar with ORAC or his blog, this is one of my daily habits. The focus is on debunking alt med claims in a pretty damn funny way. Worth reading if that is up your alley.

Tetanus boosters are required each decade. Unless these anti-vaxxer parents are total hypocrites, they haven’t had their booster shots. @LurksNoMore’s comment stands.

I wonder… Have any of them ever looked at the powers of a chief medical health officer for a county, state, etc, during a medical emergency?
Those powers were written into the books back when pandemics were very real, and are probably still lurking, long forgotten from disuse (because Science!).
On second thought, it’s probably best not to give them ideas. Move along, nothing to see!
I thought I had heard them all, but that one was new.
I actually had to educate the nurse at my local doctors office that premie babies under a certain weight or born before a certain week gestation get an extra hep b shot because they are so small the one at birth doesn’t always take.
