Reminds me of the fantasy giant monster trend, but much less intentionally foreboding.

It MUST be me, because I find these more foreboding.
(F.D. I also find The Uninvited [1944] and The Haunting [1959] infinitely more frightening than any slasher movie I’ve ever had the misfortune to watch.)

Yet they all seem to depict the moment before the tiny people are eaten, stomped, or inadvertently crushed.
The trick is finding the weak points where you can let the demon life-force out by stabbing them with your magic sword. Usually there are a few tufts of grass or something to hang onto while you work your way up.
