Hmm…is it wrong that the first question that pops into my mind is “Do high school science teachers really know how to cook meth? How would you do it using equipment from your school lab?”

No of course they don’t. That’s why they need to ask one of their former students to help. Of course they may then become megalomaniacs obsessed with purity of their product and becoming “the one who knocks”, but so it goes.
