You can do that in any bookstore. Well, maybe not this one. It looks like most of those “books” are glued in place, and might be props.

The Strand in New York keeps carts of $1 books outside. You could probably make off with one of the carts as a whole and they’d be all “Hey, bring back just the cart when you’re done!”
