One thing about living on the plains is that you really don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. You just walk outside. Over there, nice blue sky. Over there, pretty fluffy clouds. Over there, hum. looks like rain. Over there…RUN, RUN. HEAD FOR THE SHELTER, EFFIE!!!

I grew up in Kansas and I miss these storms. The most we get in Portland is three peals of thunder and some sprinkles.

The back half of that film looked like nothing but tornado weather; I would have been packing up and looking for a cellar, not filming.
