The magistrate judge also acknowledged on Wednesday that after a nearly two-hour detention hearing for Rhodes on Monday morning with several journalists in attendance, she convened another court session by telephone in the afternoon after being contacted by Rhodesâ estranged wife, Tasha Adams.
âMs. Adams testified that throughout their marriage, Defendant would often brandish firearms in the family home to control her behavior and that Defendant would physically abuse his children under the guise of participating in âmartial arts practice,ââ Johnson wrote. âMs. Adams described one such instance where Defendant choked the coupleâs daughter; the coupleâs adult son intervened to forcibly remove Defendantâs grip.â
The defendantâs estranged wife also testified that he âinstalled elaborate escape tunnels in the coupleâs backyard, hid unregistered cars in the woods, and purchased hundreds of dollars of razor wire, which Defendant intended to install around the perimeter of the property, concealed from view, âin case the feds ever came to his door,ââ the magistrate judge added.
At least one January 6 rioter is saying he should be allowed to call Trump as a witness. Obviously thatâs going to be a non-starter, but even if Trump was somehow compelled to testify itâs hilarious that this doofus thinks Trump would do anything other than help throw his seditious ass under the bus.

- Nancy Cottle and Loraine Pellegrino from Arizona. Cottle is listed on the Arizona Federation of Republican Womenâs website as being the groupâs vice president.
- David Shafer and Shawn Still from Georgia. Shafer is the chair of the Georgia GOP and was a plaintiff in some of Trumpâs longshot lawsuits to overturn the election in Georgia. Still was the Georgia GOPâs finance chair and is now running for a Georgia Senate seat.
- Kathy Berden and Mayra Rodriguez from Michigan. Berden was a national committeewoman at the Republican National Committee and served as a Trump delegate at the 2016 GOP convention. Rodriguez unsuccessfully ran for a Michigan House seat in 2020.
- Jewll Powdrell and Deborah Maestas from New Mexico. Powdrell recently told the Albuquerque Journal that he signed the fake certificate at the behest of former Rep. Steve Pearce, the head of the New Mexico GOP. Maestas previously served in that role, leading the state GOP.
- Michael McDonald and James DeGraffenreid from Nevada. McDonald is the Nevada GOP chairman and reportedly promoted false voter fraud claims in 2020. DeGraffenreidâs Facebook page says he is a national committeeman from Nevada for the RNC.
- The committee subpoenaed Bill Bachenberg and Lisa Patton from Pennsylvania. Bachenberg is a board member of the National Rifle Association and spoke at a pro-Donald Trump fundraiser in 2020.
- Andrew Hitt and Kelly Ruh from Wisconsin. Hitt is the former chairman of the Wisconsin GOP and a staffer for former Gov. Scott Walker. Ruh is currently an alderperson from the city of De Pere
Hopefully, the few remaining moderates in the GA GOP will see this as an opportunity to purge their party of traitors.
They really need to dust off their inherent contempt powers.
I have an Idea for a show where the US Congress Sergeant of Arms goes around arresting and taking into custody all of these assholes while followed by a film crew ala COPS. Having trouble with âBad traitorsâ rhyming/flow etc.
Ugh, he endorsed Lisa Scheller, a candidate for Congress who is making a second attempt for the same seat this year. She lost to Representative Susan Wild in 2020. Iâm curious to see if Scheller makes any statement distancing herself from this, or doubling down in expectation of more support from the pro-gun crowd.
With any luck being subpoenaed by Congress might make sizable speed bumps for their aspirations/careers in future politics.
One would think, but for the GQP it could well be a badge of honor. 
Unfortunately, in most places around the country the opposite is happening. The moderates are being pushed out by the Batshit caucus.
