It says they STATED that they would have… so why today are there umpteen bullshit news stories about the FBI “walking back” on accusations that the insurrectionists were intent on killing people?
Yet the “Walking Back” story itself reiterates that there WAS intent to do such a thing. Most of these assholes only read headlines. They see that and they start shouting from the rooftops that the FBI was wrong. Headline writers need to stop worrying about clicks and start worrying about the truth.

It could be that the FBI are confused.
They’re expecting an insurrection plot with leaders and a hierarchy, but what they’ve got is a criminal zeitgeist. When they’re looking for an organized group, but what they’ve got is a flashmob of lone wolves, they’re out of their element.

I was thinking earlier that I would love to hear what Trump is saying about them privately. I would bet good money he is cursing them for being so disorganized and not getting the job done. I bet he isn’t angry they did it, I bet he is angry they didn’t accomplish the coup.

Separately, a group called ShutDownDC gathered 500 volunteers to message DC area Airbnb hosts. The group sent messages to the managers of 3,400 properties in the region—polite ones, according to ShutDownDC organizer Alex Dodd. The messages alerted the Airbnb hosts to an upcoming threat and asked them to please refrain from booking anyone in their homes in the days surrounding the inauguration.
