Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told reporters on Capitol Hill Thursday he was not involved in any conversations with Trump allies about the possibility of him presiding over the Jan. 6, 2021 joint session of Congress.
“We were talking about presiding over the Senate but a lot of people get that mixed up with some idea that I was going to preside over the joint session,” Grassley said as he got out of the Senate subway for the first votes of the day. “You know that’s not what I ever intended to do. I was never involved in any conversations on that or anything.”

I wonder if the D.A. just figured they’d be biting off more than they could handle if they tried to put another state’s acting Senator in prison. Pity, that guy deserves punishment even more than most of Trump’s cultists because he clearly understands what a danger Trump represents (and articulated so in 2016) but supported him anyway.

My teevee says that the judge has just denied Mark Meadows request to move his trial to federal court.
So - it will be televised.
And that the judge didn’t buy his argument that he was acting within his federal job duties.

That likely means none of them will get moved… and we’re probably going to know both the defense strategies and the outcomes of all of the cases sooner rather than later, since Cheese-Bro and the Kraken wanted their cases over quickly…
